My dryer gets hot, but my clothes are still damp. Why?
In most cases the problem is the vent, not the dryer. A dryer works by pushing hot, moist air out through the vent. When the vent is clogged, that air has nowhere to go, so heat builds up inside the machine while your clothes stay wet. Cleaning the vent usually fixes it and removes a serious fire risk.
How often should a dryer vent be cleaned?
Most homes should have it done once a year. Busy households and rentals may need it more often. Many HOAs require it every other year.
What are the signs my vent is clogged?
The first sign is usually lint building up around the seal of the dryer door. Others: clothes taking more than one cycle to dry, a dryer that feels hot on the outside, or a burning smell.
Do I need to be home?
Someone needs to let us in to reach the dryer. For condos and rentals, a property manager or neighbor with a key works fine.
How long does a cleaning take?
Most single homes are done in under an hour. Long runs and repairs take longer, and we'll tell you up front.
